16.3 km. Big Springs Backcountry Campground to Magog Lake Backcountry Campground.
We passed Marvel Lake first thing in the morning and then climbed up.

Almost to the top of Wonder Pass.

Wonder Pass. I lost my selfie phone adaptor up here. Bummer.
.
It was windy at the pass. We found a semi sheltered spot and ate lunch. It’s a very short day so we had time for lots of breaks. It wasn’t long on the way down before we saw IT. Mt Assiniboine is mighty and majestic and I could stare at it all day. This is a very popular area (LOTS of people) but there is a reason. It is amazing. There is the very expensive Mt Assiniboine Lodge which many people helicopter into. They allow hiker trash to enjoy tea, beer or wine from 4 to 5 every day. We planned out day around this! Magog Lake campground fills up fast. 2 days ago we were fortunate to be able to get a last minute site.

View from the lodge.
.

We walked over to the campground and set up our tents.
.

Backpacking at its finest.

Suddenly, I am deeply envious .. stunning scenery, Nancy! And wine …
