AZT Day 22. More Easy Walking. October 26, 2016

A bit past Shuff Tank (mile 276) to 2 miles before hwy 87 (mile 299.4)
Total miles: 260.1  miles

The ground was still wet from the rain the night before and I had to camp relatively low so I wasn’t surprised to wake up to  condensation on my tent and sleeping bag. But it’s the first time this hike. So not bad.

I saw Bill from Maine again this morning as he was breaking down his camp.

Lots of water out here. But I'm happy drinking my cached water.

I talked to some hunters in a truck. The 84 year old was the only one who had gotten a deer so far. They gave me 3 fun size payday candy bars. Happy Halloween!

I stopped early (4:30) because I’m 2 miles from the highway and the trail merges with a dirt road just ahead. I can’t tell how far past the hwy trail starts again. I don’t like to camp next to any road if I can help it. And I can see the sunset from here…. thru the trees.
