Day 21. Nero in Auckland. November 23, 2015

After a great breakfast and wearing clean clothes Nathan and I walked to the ferry which took us across the harbor to downtown Auckland.

We hiked up a small dormant volcano on our way to the ferry.

There I met my friend Lisa who is going to walk with me for a week or so.

Lisa splurged for a room at Rydges which will definitely be the fanciest place I stay on this trip.

Most of the day was devoted to  town chores. Lisa clocked 8 miles of walking around on her iPhone. Pretty typical day off. Mailed some shoes that I had brought here from the USA and had stored at a hostel. Bought new flip flops…. $3.70. Who says everything is expensive here? Figured out the next few days.

And now sprawled out on a huge bed…
