The weather forecast was correct. We got thunder, lightening,  rain and hail this afternoon. We sat out under a tree twice for about an hour each time. My umbrella was worth it’s weight today. The great thing about the rain today is that it didn’t block any views.

We camped early…. 5pm. We are on a ridge near White Pass with a view of snow covered ridges and peaks in both directions.

We met Fred who hiked the PCT with 2 friends in 1973. He was one of the first 10 people to have hiked the trail. He said he might camp with us but then found another spot. Bummer. I had lots of questions for him.

It’s 8:30pm and almost completely clear. Bodes well for a great day tomorrow.  Oh, hot miso soup followed by another hot dinner is making me spoiled.

Tomorrow could be a big day. We might hike 28 miles, 9500 ft of climbing.
