Greenstone Hut km 2700 to Careys Hut 2728

My new friends Alison and Lindsay

Today there was on and off light rain and perfect walking temperature. I think this would have been a hot, sweaty walk on a sunny day.

There was more great trail at first then a marked route in open tussocks.

There were 3 huts. One for lunch. One to refill on water. And I’m  sleeping in the  last one, Careys Hut. It’s a beautiful setting right on a big lake. I got here at 5. It’s so nice to quit walking early. I’m here with Leo and the Israeli brothers.
