Day 60. New Year. New Island. January 1, 2016.
Another zero.
Thank you, Hurricane and Liz for a perfect break between islands. I took the bus into downtown Wellington and walked to the ferry terminal. Who did I run into on the waterfront? Nathan. The one person I knew was in the city!
I get motion sickness pretty easily and was a bit worried about the ferry ride. It was as smooth as glass… so no worries. I promptly fell asleep once I got aboard.
I am now at a hostel in Picton on the South Island. Top bunk for the first time this trip. It’s the busy season here. Rain is predicted for tomorrow so I might not be hiking for another day.
Why Not?!, Congrats on completing the North Island! Glad you were able to hang with Hurricane and Liz! It’s a small world after all! Enjoy the South Island! It will keep getting better!
Thanks. Hurricane and Liz were wonderful. We talked about you. Were your ears burning?!
Haha! Apparently so, yes! Lovin’ your journal, as usual!
Your journals are a wonderful escape from the cold and snow of Vermont. You are the quintessential adventurer!
