Day 46
5/18/14
19.8 miles
736.3 total miles
We are now definitely in the Sierra. Huge granite, huge views, big trees and snow capped peaks getting closer and closer.
Clouds are forming over the distant peaks. Is that the storm?
We could look down on the Owen Valley way below.
We are camped at 10,300 ft, the wind is blowing and it’s cold. But Poco, Grasshopper and I are still cowboy camping.
Totally exciting. I walk everyday with a pack, increasing the load, for a future sobo with my daughter. As I walk I gaze toward the snow laden Klahanne Ridge (Olympic Nat’l Park) and feel I could just walk there. I will when the snow melts. I like your attitude.
Thanks for following along. I loved my hike of the coast in Olympic National Park. A PCT sobo should be awesome. Make it happen.
