Bluebird Lake sits at 6850 ft below a jagged rock wall. We could see it in the distance and I should have taken a photo. It was covered in clouds when we got to it and the clouds remained this morning. It was still gorgeous but I can only imagine what it would look like in sun.
We climbed out of the 10 Lakes Scenic Area and then it was all downhill to the town of Eureka. The guidebook said Trail 92 was hard to follow with lots of downed trees. We got lucky. Some chain sawyers had been hard at work before we got there.
We got right next to the US – Canada border which was cool.
Shane saved us 2 miles of gravel plus 3 miles of highway walking into town. Plus we missed a rain squall. I’m no longer a purist. We had beers, food and showers by the time we could have walked here.
Looks like you are making great progress and the trail is beautiful! Loving your narrative and visuals.
Enjoying once again your inspirational posts. Thanks Nancy!
Great to read of you again and to see all these wonderful pictures with a very happy looking woman on them 🙂 ! Thanks for sharing again!
Thanks yet again for sharing your journey with us. Loving the scenery and wildflowers. We are in winter here in NZ and longing for summer to arrive. In the meantime I can live through your hike. 😀
