Day 35 – Aquaduct Day

Today we hiked 17 miles next to or on top of the California Aquaduct across the Mohave Desert. Notorious for high heat. Not today. I started out wearing my down jacket and then put it back on for every break. I’m not complaining. The wide dirt road was definitely a friendship trail…. easy for conversation since we could walk side by side. The Joshua Trees, clouds, and distant Tehachapi Mountains made for a beautiful walk.

So surprised about the down jackets all the time. I slept in those Joshua Trees. and some one played the flute all night.
I wish I heard a flute out there.
