Day 19. Cafe to Cafe in the Rain to Stillwater. November 21, 2015.

Puhoi km 530 to Stillwater Km 562.5

We could have rented a kayak or canoe for the first 8km but the tides and weather didn’t cooperate. Plus it was kind of expensive. The road walk wasn’t bad.

We ate breakfast at the General Store in Puhoi. Then it was a mostly beach walk to lunch in Orewa. By the time we got to Silverdale it was raining so we ducked into another cafe to wait it out. My umbrella is useless in the wind.

It was mostly dry to Stillwater. This is a gorgeous place. Picturesque harbor. Upscale homes. The Boating Club is the only place that serves food (Wednesday to Sunday). Great dinner.

Then we walked over to the holiday park and Peter hooked us up! Shower, towel, inside sleeping in the game room. All free. And it’s blowing wind and rain outside. How can I get so lucky?
