Brüsti to the Trübsee, 1796m
Day total: 27 km
VA1 total: 120.5 km
45 minutes into the day we got to the place I wish we stayed last night. An “alp” is a farm and many have guest accommodations. Alp Grat at 1820m was so cute and friendly. We stopped to buy some cheese and yogurt. The breakfast the guests were eating looked delicious.
It was foggy all the way up Surenenpass (2291m). The clouds would part some to show us glimpses of what we were missing. The mountain Titlis (3238 meters) was out there somewhere.

On the way down we stopped at Alphütte Blackenalp for coffee and bought cheese at Berggasthaus Stäfeli cheese. They had the most unique chicken coop.
The bottom was the village of Engelberg which has a huge monestery, a great bakery and a big grocery store.
We planned to camp somewhere near the top of the tram. It was really cold up there. WhIle looking for a good camp spot we found this unlocked church.
The stained glass seemed to welcome us….
We are definitely leaving a donation.
The chickens look happy with a unique coop!
Anke Huber was a pro tennis 🎾 player from Germany..
It must have been cold outside since you were dressed warmly inside. Great find for a better night’s rest.
Ah, I remember her! She was very good-looking, just like Nancy..
Indeed! And very fit, like Nancy!
Great camping spot!
